Papertrey Ink - Make It Monday - Vellum Overlays

Over at Papertrey Ink this week for their Make It Monday challenge Danielle Flanders has a video on Vellum Overlays.  I love the look of vellum, but really have never used it on my cards.  So I thought this would be a great challenge, since the vellum I bought has been sitting there for a couple of years now.  For my stamps I used PTI's Leave It Be stamp set.  I stamped two panels on white card stock.  The larger panel I covered completely with vellum to give it a more subtle look to the bold design.  The smaller panel I left uncovered.  For the sentiment I used the PTI Mini Blooms set by using a band of vellum that was embossed using Ranger Super Fine Detailing Embossing Powder.  The vellum was attached with brads, since I really didn't have a good place to put adhesive without it showing from the back.

I am entering this card in following challenges:

(My ought to use this more would be the vellum - it has been sitting there for years!)

Here is my card...

Thanks for taking the time to stop by...

  1. Outstanding!! I love the look you created by layering vellum over the background but leaving it off the smaller frame! Brilliant! : )

  2. Oh wow! Love, love how the vellum created a soft look to the background and let the leaves shine in the front! It's gorgeous. Thank you so much for making a card for our challenge! :)

  3. What a lovely combination of bold colors of the front panel and subtle effect from the vellum! Great card!

  4. Your card is so beautiful! Love the delightful colors and the pretty pattern on the background. Thank you so much for sharing with us at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. :)
