Creative Knockouts Challenge #17 - Anything Goes

I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays and managing the weather we are having here in the states.  We had 8" of snow on Sunday and it seems to be snowing everyday since.  I'm sad to say this will be my last card as a design team member for Creative Knockouts.  We are going to Florida to enjoy the warmer climate for the winter.  Since I won't have access to all my supplies I didn't want to commit to anything at this time.  It's been about a year and I thank Kelly and the design team members for letting me join the group.  I have really enjoyed my time there.

This week at Creative Knockouts we have an "Anything Goes Challenge" with Bugaboo as our sponsor.  As many of you know I love Stella & Gus, so for my last card on the design team I picked the Bugaboo image "Stella Birthday - One More Candle".  I colored the image with Copics and added Stickles to the candles and her hat.  The papers were from the 6x6 pack from Ki called Growing Garden.

Here is my card...

Hope you can join us this week for the Anything Goes Challenge.
I will taking some time off till we get settled and will be posting again in the new year...

Creative Knockouts Challenge #15 - Tis The Season

This weeks challenge at Creative Knockouts is "Tis the Season".  So if you are like me and really haven't finished up all your holiday cards this is the perfect challenge to add one of your creations.  Our sponsor for today's challenge is Robyn's Fetish.  The design team has some really great ideas for some inspiration using their wonderful images.  For my card I used the cute image from Robyn's Fetish called " Paul Penguin Sleighing".  I colored the image with my Copics, added some Stickles and fussy cut it out.  The snowflake pattern paper was from my stash and the snow hills are from the DCWV Glitter Mat Stack.  I edged the hills with some blue ink, just to give them some definition.  I also die cut extra snowflakes from the same glitter paper using the Cuttlebug 2x2 Single Die - Snowflake #2 and added some gems for a little bling.  The sentiment is from Whipper Snapper Designs "Think Snow" set and was cut using the Fishtail Flags Stax from MFT.

Here is my card for this week's challenge.

Creative Knockouts Challenge - TicTacToe

This week at Creative Knockouts we have a slightly different version of the TicTacToe board.  You need to choose one thing from row 1, two things from row 2 and three things from row 3.  We also have a new sponsor for this challenge Dilly Beans Stamps.  So I hope you will be able to join us this week.

EMBOSSING
DISTRESSING
SHAPED CARD
STAMPS
SENTIMENT
DIES
FLOWERS
PEARLS/BLING
RIBBON/TWINE

For my card I used the Dilly Beans digi image "Amalia's Daisy Crown".  I printed the image twice, colored the first and just the daisy crown on the second.  I fussy cut the daisy crown  and added to the colored image for more dimension.  As for the TicTacToe board I distressed the edges of the image and sentiment using Antique Linen Distress Ink.  For the second row I used the sentiment stamp from Printworks called "I'm so Glad".  The dies I used were the Nestabilities Circle and Scallop Circle Dies and MFT Die-namics Rounded Banner Stax.  For the third row I added gem stones from Ki, ribbon from my stash and flowers using a small punch from Fiskars.  The paper is from My Mind's Eye Collectable "Remarkable" 6x6 pack.  Here is my card for this week's challenge.

Creative Knockouts - Make It Sparkle

At Creative Knockouts this week the theme is "Make It Sparkle", so get out your glitter, Stickles and gems for this week's challenge.  We have a lot of sparkle from the Design Team this week using images from our sponsor Saturated Canary.  Krista's images are super, super sweet - I love them all, so it was hard to pick just one.  I finally decided on "Whispy" for my card - I thought her wings would be perfect for adding some sparkle.  The papers are from the Heidi Grace line "Sunshowers" that I picked up at Joann's.  The flourishes were diecut using the Allegro Corner Die from Simon Says Stamp with paper from DCWV Glitter Stack.  I added Stickles to the wings and underskirt on her dress and added gems to the flowers in the die cuts and bobbles that dangled from the leaves on her dress.

Here is my card for this week...

This should be a really fun challenge, so I hope you will be able to join us this week.

Creative Knockouts Challenge#9 - Banners & Pennants

The challenge this week at Creative Knockouts is Banners and Pennants and the sponsor for this challenge is Meljens Designs.  They have so many cute images it hard to pick just one.  The design team has created some really super cute cards, so I hope you have a chance to check them out.  For my card I picked the Birthday Bee image.  I colored it with Copics and added a lot of Stickles for major sparkle.  The banners were made using the Ribbon Banner Die from Simon Says Stamp and the papers were from My Mind's Eye "Moments" 6x6 pack.  I used a Spellbinders Oval and Label Eighteen die for the image.  The sentiment and punches are from Stampin Up.  The stamp set which might be retired is called Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Here is my card for this week.

I hope you will be able to join us for this week's challenge...

Creative Knockouts Challenge #7 - Paper Piecing

Today we have a fun challenge at Creative Knockouts - it's paper piecing.  I think paper piecing always add a little something special to my projects, so I use this method often depending on my image.  Our sponsor this week is Crafty Sentiments and I am using their digi image Harriet - Friendship.  I colored her in with Copics and paper pieced her dress, hair bow and teddy bear.  The papers are from the Recollection paper pad "Mosaic Memories".  The sentiment is a stamp from Hero Arts.

Here is my card for this week...

Hope you can join us for this week's challenge.

Art Impressions "Patio Chair Rhonda"

Today's card is a birthday card using the Art Impression stamp called "Patio Chair Rhonda". I needed a birthday card for my sister-in-law's birthday later this month and I thought she would work perfectly.  I'm sure my brother will have some comment regarding me posing for the image!  I colored her with Copics and paper pieced her top.  The pattern papers are from My Mind's Eye "Hootenanny" 6x6 pack and the sentiments were computer generated.  The challenge this week at the Art Impression blog is Fun Folds, so my card I believe is called a Z fold.  When you open it up the image is still visible, which is what I wanted with my inside sentiment.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Art Impressions Challenge 120 - Fun Folds
Simon Says - Use a Rubber or Clear Stamp
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes

This post is a little photo heavy, but I wanted to get the views of the card.  Also, it wasn't the sunniest of days, so the pics are a little dark.

Creative Knockouts Challenge #5 - Case Study

Today we have a fun challenge at Creative Knockouts called "Case Study".  Participants posting to this challenge need to "CASE" one of the design teams cards.  This will be fun to see what you all come up with.  Our sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps and I picked "Stella Love - Person to Annoy".  I just love Stella and Gus - the images are so cute and they work for any type of card.  I thought this would be a perfect anniversary card.

I colored the image with Copics, added Glossy Accents to their glasses and red Stickles to the heart and dots on Stella's dress.  The paper is from My Mind's Eye Quilting Bee.  I distressed the edges of the image and sentiment with Antique Linen Distress Ink.  The glittered heart brads are from Michaels.

Here is my card for this week...

Art Impressions "Millie"

Today's card is using the Art Impressions stamp "Millie".  I thought she would be perfect for using an Action Wobble , since she looks like she's jumping for joy.  I colored the image with Copics, paper pieced her dress and fussy cut her out.  I had to trim a little bit of the base on the Action Wobble to fit the image.  The papers are from the My Mind's Eye Collectable "Remarkable" 6x6 paper pack and my stash.  The sentiment is from the Fiskars stamp set Make a Wish Quotes.  She looks really cute when she wobbles, but I couldn't get a photo that really showed her moving.  I really love these AI stamps!

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Art Impressions Challenge #119 - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Challenges 4 Everybody - Anything Goes

Creative Knockouts Challenge - Texturize It!

Today's challenge at Creative Knockouts is "Texturize It".  That could be dry or heat embossing, using textured card stock or anything you can come up with to add texture to your project.  Our super sponsor is Delicious Doodles and we have some great cards from our DT this week, so I hope you will be able to join us.

For my card I selected the Delicious Doodle image Iris Flower.  I colored the image with Copics then die cut using the Spellbinders Oval.  I layered that on a Spellbinder die cut using the Beaded Oval die.  It is hard to see it in the pic, but I ran the white portion of the card through the Cuttlebug "Victoria" embossing folder for the texture.  The paper is from the 6x6 paper pack from Kathy Davis called Journeys.

Here is my card for this week's challenge.

The theme this week at the Art Impressions Challenge is "Oh My Chickens", since I didn't have any of their Bird Brain series stamps I pulled out another old stamp from Whipper Snapper Designs.  It comes from their simple sets which contained the "Chicken Noodle Soup" stamp and the sentiment.  I colored it with my Copics added some Glossy Accents on the beak, eyes and comb.  The papers are from Paper Studio "Farm Fresh.  The red corner piece was run through with the Cuttlebug Honey Comb small border embossing folder and the brads were from my stash.  I used Antique Linen Distress Ink around the edges.

Let's Celebrate Our New Blog - "Creative Knockouts" Blog Hop

We have some exciting news at the Dutch Dare Card Challenge.  We are changing our name and look to "Creative Knockouts".  Why change you ask?  Well, Kelly more or less inherited the Dutch Dare and she would like to give it a fresh new look.  To celebrate we are having our first ever Blog Hop.  The design team has created some great cards using images from our fun sponsor this week Dr. Digi's House of Stamps.  We also have some blog candy available at some of the stops along the hop (see the bottom of this post).  So I hope you will get a chance to check out all the teams blogs and join us in this week's challenge.  If you have the time, we all would like a little love in the form of comments.  Let us know what you think of our new look!

On to our challenge this week.  The theme is Masculine, so get out those masculine images and add your "creative knockout" to the link for this week's challenge.  The rules are the same, so I hope you will be able to join us this week.

For my card I picked Dr. Digi's "Hole In One Hal".  I colored him with Copics, paper pieced his shorts and added some Glossy Accents to the visor.  The papers are from Echo Park's "This & That" collection.  The zigzag stripe was die cut using MFT's Chevron Stripes Die-namics and at the corners I added some black Liquid Pearls.  The sentiment was computer generated and the twine was from my stash.

If you are following the hop you would have come from Kelly's blog.  Next stop is Vicky, so I hope you are enjoying all the creations the Design Team has come up with this week.

Card Using Whipper Snapper Designs "Stephaine"

Hello everyone,  today I have a card using Whipper Snapper Design's "Stephaine".  This is one of the first stamps I ever bought from them - and one of my favorites.  If you never been to the Whipper Snapper Designs site you should really check out the gallery.  They have some super cards made using their stamps.  The paper for this card is from Heidi Grace's "Sunshowers" 6x6 pack.  The epoxy hearts are from the same line, which I found at Joann's.  I used my Cuttlebug Swiss Dot folder for the embossing on the side of the card and I added some Glossy Accents to her high heels.  I also added some Stickles on her hair bands and tee-shirt for some bling.  This was an old Mojo Monday sketch from 2009.    After I finished the card I was thinking it should have had more layers.  I think it is missing something, but I'm not sure what.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog - Anything Goes
Stampin' For The Weekend - Colors of Summer
Sister Act Card Challenge - Challenge #22
Challenges 4 Everybody - Challenge #28 Anything Goes

Here is my card for today.

Just a quick note...I hope you will be able to join us this Thursday for our first ever blog hop and challenge at Creative Knockouts (formally The Dutch Dare).  We have a great new look and some fun challenges planned, so I hope you will stop by and take a look.

PTI August Blog Hop Fast Food Color & Sketch Challenge

Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday.  Here we are expecting 90 degree weather, so it's a good day to stay inside and work on my cards!  Over at Nicole Heady's blog for Papertrey Ink today they are having their August Blog Hop.  The theme is a fast food color & sketch challenge.  There are six different sketches and color combos to select from.  To see all the photo and sketch inspirations click here for the link.  For my card I selected the Pastel Layered Cake photo & sketch.

For the colors I used Stampin Up papers Pretty In Pink, Peach Parfait, Daffodil Delight, Bashful Blue and Marina Mist.  Each were die cut using PTI's Birthday Die.  It's a little hard to tell on the photo, but I then stamped each die cut with the coordinating stamp from the Wonderful Words Birthday Set using Stampin Up Illuminate Pigment Ink.  It gives the card stock a shimmery look to it.  The "happy sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Happy Sentiments.  I popped up the Daffodil Delight die cut with pop dots to add a little dimension to the card.

Art Impressions "Birthday Gal" Front & Back Card

The other day my mom asked if I would make a card for her very good friend's birthday that is coming up in Sept.  The one requirement was that it had to be an Art Impression image.  That wasn't such a hard request, since I have quite a few of their stamps.  I just love their images - they are so much fun.  This card was created for the AI challenge #117 People Parade.  Basically, your card needs a person on it, so I pulled out one of my new Art Impressions stamp called "Birthday Gal".  It's one of their Front & Back stamp series that I received as an honorable mention for one of their challenges.  This was the first time I have done a card like this, so it took a little bit of time to get it together since I used multiple layers.  But I figured out some shortcuts, so the next one will go much faster.  First I colored the images with my Copics.  I fussy cut both the front and back and attached them together so she would fit in the window.  I did the same with the windows using AI's Front & Back "Curtain Window".  The curtains were paper pieced using Ki Metro Garden.  The sentiment was from Papertrey Ink's "Bigger Blooms" stamp set.  The white washed wooden panel on the front of the card was from My Minds Eye Dolled Up.  The banners were made using the Ribbon Banner die from Simon Says Stamp with some papers from my stash.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Art Impressions Challenge #117 People Parade
Challenges For Everybody Challenge #27 - Anything Goes
Sister Act Card Challenge #21

Dutch Dare Challenge #231 Animal Antics

This week's challenge at the Dutch Dare is Animal Antics.  I'm using the really cute image "Puppy Love" from Sweet N Sassy Stamps - our sponsor this week.  Cute animal images always make for fun cards, so I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone does this week.  For my card I colored the image with Copics and added some Antique Linen Distress Ink around the edges.  All the papers are from The Paper Studio called Spoiled Rotten, which I roughed up with a distressing tool.  The ribbon was from Hobby Lobby.

Here's my card...

I hope you have a chance to join us this week...

Whipper Snapper Designs "Kerry Oki" Card

The inspiration for today's card came from the Art Impression challenge blog.  They are looking for dogs or cats on cards this week.  So I pulled out a couple old stamps from Whipper Snapper Designs.  The image is called "Kerry Oki" and the sentiment is "I Woof You".   The image was colored with Copics.  I then colored a second image, fussy cut out the little puffs of fur and popped them on foam tape.  I don't really think you can see that from the photo.  I also added some Glossy Accents to the nose and Stickles to the bow.  The paper is from two different collections Recollections Bold Basics and My Mind's Eye Simply Delightful.  I added some Black Liquid Pearls to the corners of the card.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Art Impressions Challenge Blog - For The Dogs & Cats
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes August 13 - 20
Brown Sugar Challenge Blog - Challenge# 54 - Anything Goes

PTI Make It Monday #128 Stamping Random Backgrounds

I'm back again for another Papertrey Ink Make It Monday.  This week Ashley has a video using small stamps to create a random background.  For my card I am using the Papertrey Ink "Mini Blooms" and the coordinating die set of the same name.  First, I stamped my background using 3 layers of cream card stock that was adhered with removable tape.  I will have the measurements at the end of this post if you are interested. For ink colors I used Stampin Up River Rock, Baja Breeze, Bravo Burgundy and Old Olive.  I used Antique Linen Distress Ink around the edges.  After stamping I took each layer and mounted it on Baja Breeze cardstock.  Make sure when you adhere the layers together that they are going in the correct direction, so your images line up.  The sentiment is also from the same Mini Blooms stamp set.  I added some cream lace around the sentiment and added die cut flowers that I used for the background.  It's really busy, but I think I like it in a funky sort of way.

Here is my card...

For this card you need 3 pieces of cream card stock cut to the following:
2 x 3 1/4
3 x 4 1/4
4 x 5 1/5

Color card stock:
2 1/4 x 3 1/2
3 1/4 x 4 1/2

A2 card - 5 1/2 x 4 1/4

Tiddly Inks Birthday Wishes

I hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend.  We have been running around a lot lately, so it will be nice to just stay home this weekend and get some stuff done around the house.  Today's card uses the Birthday Wishes stamp from Tiddly Inks.  When Simon Says Stamp was having there 20% off promotion this was one of the stamps I purchased.  I think she is really sweet.  She was colored with Copics and I added Stickles to the candles, lace on her dress and the party hat.  The papers were from My Mind's Eye "Hootenanny" , which has some really great birthday papers.  The die cuts were Spellbinders Oval and Labels Eighteen.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Wonderful Words - Birthday Mini Stamp Set and coordinating die of the same name.  I really love this set and it would be a great set for a CAS card with the sentiment as the focal point.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog - Anything Goes
Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes July 30 - Aug 5
Sister Act Card Challenge - Challenge 18 Anything Goes
One Crazy Stamper - August Birthday Challenge

Well, I've rambled on for quite a bit, so here is my card for today.

PTI Make It Monday - Double Backgrounds

Today's card is for the challenge at Papertrey Ink.  This week's Make It Monday, Dawn has a great video on getting more from your stamps by creating double stamped backgrounds.  For my card I used grey cardstock and double stamped using Colorbox Pigment Metallic Silver ink.  I stamped the dots first using a Inkadinkado Polka Dot background stamp.  Next I stamped using the PTI Fancy Flourishes.  The bride and groom were die cuts using PTI's Man & Wife Dies.  The bride's dress was die cut using DCWV Glitter Cardstock.   The sentiment is from PTI's Bigger Blooms set and the die cut flourish was from Simon Says Stamp Allegro Corner.  I then add some small rhinestones for a little bling.

Dutch Dare Challenge #227 - Stitches

Summer is just flying by and been really busy.  These last couple of week's I haven't had much time card making.  My brother in law goes to a camp for people with disabilities in July, so last week there was a lot of running to get him there each morning and pick him up.  Next week he stays overnight for a week, so he takes a week worth of everything and it all needs to be labeled.  Once August rolls in things should settle down.  Well, on to this week's challenge at the Dutch Dare.  Our challenge this week is Stitches.  I don't have a lot of space, so I rarely use my sewing machine, but I brought it out for this challenge and also got all my mending done in the process.  Our sponsor this week is Sassy Studio Designs, so I hope you will be able to join us and show us your stitches.  My card uses the Sassy Studio Designs image "Tinkerbell Honey".  I colored her with copics and fussy cut her out.  I used Stickles on the wings and the sentiment is from MFT's "My Favorite Sentiments" set.  The papers are from Ki Growing Garden 6x6 pack that I picked up at Walmart.  I did a zigzag stitch on the blue paper in white thread and a straight stitch on my sentiment piece in green.

Here is my card...

Dutch Dare Challenge #225 Tic-Tac-Toe

This week the Dutch Dare Design Team is using a Tic-Tac-Toe board for our inspiration.  Our sponsor this week is the Saturated Carnary.  Krista was kind enough to let the design team pick an image for this challenge.  For my card, I am using a really sweet image called "Ava".  I hope you will be able to join us this week.

STITCHING
 (real or faux)
BLING
RIBBON
FLOWERS
BUTTONS
DISTRESSING
Card For A Child
BRADS
Birthday Card

The image was colored with my Copics and then distressed with Antique Linen Distress Ink. The pattern paper was from MME - Reunion and the sentiment was a freebie from a magazine I subscribe to.  The banners were made with the Simon Says Stamp Ribbon Banner.  I added some Glossy Accents to the ballon and buttons on her shoes.  There also are  some Stickles on her bow and layers for a little sparkle.  My first thought was to go with a Birthday card, Distressing & Ribbon, but I wasn't sure if my ribbon banner really would be considered as ribbon.  So it also fits as a Card for a Child, Brads & Birthday Card.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
(My favorite embellishments are brads and my new ribbon die - I just think it is fun!)

Here is my card for this week.
